Los Angeles - Fraser A. Gorman’s beautifully offbeat, gloriously sun-baked debut LP, slow gum is hurtling our way this summer. (Out on June 29, 2015 via House Anxiety / Marathon Artists / Milk! Records).
The new single from the rapidly ascending, Australian troubadour is titled “Shiny Gun.” It premiered today with a music video featuring Courtney Barnett and the video shows just why Gorman is tipped to be one of the best and brightest new talents around right now.
The video was directed by Sunny Leunig.
Watch Fraser A. Gorman’s “Shiny Gun” music video:
Twisting the very roots of country, rock and roll, and folk, with “Shiny Gun,” Gorman delivers a warmly rousing anthem in waiting; genuflecting to the greats such as Woody Guthrie, while also forging his own unique path more akin to modern outsider heroes like Cass Mccombs and Bill Callahan. As always, with Gorman, his distinctly oddball wit and wry poetry courses through the song’s veins, culminating in a chorus that is as heart-tugging as it’s uplifting.
