Grouplove's Tongue Tied Goes To Number 1, Plays Leno Tonight

Longtime BestNewBands.com faves Grouplove have done it again. The Los Angeles-based quintet and our official "Best New Band of 2011" have hit number 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Radio chart for their hit single, "Tongue Tied," which you may have heard quite a few times on an Apple commercial and several television programs. If that's not enough, the band will be performing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno this evening, so set those DVRs if you want to catch one of the best new bands out there. The group also announced they'll be appearing on NBC's Today July 9. If you can't stay up late to catch them, you have no excuse to not see them in the morning.

Ever since he first heard the opening chords to "Smells Like Teen Spirit," at the age of 11, Daniel Kohn has been hooked on music. He's a sucker for '90s music, especially that from Seattle. Like a small minority of Americans, he likes football of the European variety, especially Liverpool. When he's not chasing down bands, you can find him at your local pub with a pint of Carlsberg, usually at ungodly hours cheering on his beloved Reds.
