Sasquatch-02-wide

The Sasquatch! Music Festival in the beautiful state of Washington has quickly become one of the highlights of the indie festival scene for both its breathtaking backdrop and stellar lineups. This year the festival is rumored to be bigger and better than ever before, just in time to celebrate its 10th anniversary. While the warm summer months of fun in the sun may seem like months away now, Sasquatch! enthusiasts know that all the planning begins now. We've got the current details and what to look for in the next month or so to get you to the festival without a hassle.

As always, the festival will be held on Memorial day weekend, May 27-30 of this year. Instead of the usual three-day schedule, Sasquatch! will be ramping it up this year to a full four days of music on The Gorge Amphitheater's three stages. The sheer volume of a festival on three stages for four days will mean a lot of great new bands.

Foo Fighters have been confirmed as the first headlining band for the festival, and the full lineup will be announced on February 7th!

Tickets for the 2011 festival will be all-inclusive, meaning that the ticket price will also include festival camping and any applicable service fees. Four day passes are currently available for a discounted price of $285, but will go up on February 14th. Because of the discounted price and past history, these four-day passes are likely to sell out, so we recommend getting your hands on tickets while they are still available. If it's hard to plan ahead, buy a pass and sell it if you can't go. Better safe than sorry is always a good festival motto!

With Foo Fighters as a solid start to the 10th anniversary of the festival, we are excited to see what the full lineup holds. Watch for the announcement February 7th and we will be here with more vital info as more details roll in.

Kelly Montgomery

Kelly Montgomery is a Portland-bred creative spirit and concert addict. While she has loved concerts since her days as a child watching Joan BaezBob Dylan, and Paul Simon, she has only recently begun writing about music. Kelly is a sucker for bearded folk-crooners, catchy guitar licks, and three-part harmonies. She makes a mean road trip CD and the highlight of her year is always the Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, WA. When she's not scribbling down notes at a concert, Kelly enjoys sipping Chai Lattes, thrift store shopping, late-night baking, reading fashion blogs, and taking photos with one of her 6 cameras.
