Sonisphere is first up on the list and aside from the big four (coverage from Indio can be re-capped HERE) who rocked my world a couple months ago (how could they not, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer is already a recipe for some serious no holds barred audio awesomeness) we’ve got Biffy Clyro, The Mars Volta, and Anberlin all ready to kick ass and take names musically.
Exit Fest is fast approaching as well and in the name of all things able to get you up and gyrating like it’s your job, Deadmau5 is one of the headliners- so get ready to dance like it’s going out of style. In if you’re ready to venture off the beaten pathnCoachella’s laid out for us (I’m talking all things Arcade Fire and MIA related status) you can get ready to get down with the likes of Photek, Fedde LeGrand, and the Editors!
Moving right along and into a fest that has me making the hard decision of Benicassim and Latitude festival, pretty much Spain or stay UK-side- I’m not going to lie, it’s a damn difficult decision. But with the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, The Strokes, The Vaccines- my choice is pretty easy, I’ve got high hopes for the sea side festival in Valencia, Spain! But hey- seeing LA based Fool’s Gold in the UK isn’t exactly a bad consolation prize- try and take it well.
Last and most certainly not least we’ve got Wilderness fest in Oxfordshire August 12-14, and aside from stellar yet sweetly understated lineup to get me amped, I’m even excited to camp (yes, I did say camp. In a tent. Sans a hair straightener and other non third world like luxuries. Mom, I’ll tell someone to have the resuscitation mechanism on stand by as you’re reading this) because aside from the sweet serenades of Laura Marling, Toot and the Maytals, Dry The River (who have been incessantly blowing my mind since I fell in lust at first listen care of this year’s sxsw) and the Low Anthem, it’s supposed to be some of the best, most gorgeous camping in the UK. So yes, suffice it to say I’m amped for this adventure, and I’ll be watching an excessive amount of Bear Grylls to learn how to make a straightener out of hot stones and perhaps a stick. If anyone can do it, he can. And maybe, MacGuyver, too.
