St Jerome’s Laneway Festival – the quintessential Indie Rock Festival - will return to Singapore for a third successive yearon January 26th. This year the festival’s moving to Singapore’s iconic landmark, The Meadow at Gardens By The Bay. It’s a great lineup, as always, with great mix of known and soon to be known bands, including some of our favorite new bands. Here’s a sample:
Alt-J are one of the most exciting new bands to come out of the UK in 2012. The art rockers/former fine art students formed got together in college, and have just won th prestigious Mercury Award and hit the top 20 in the U.K.
Divine Fits: Spoon frontman Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs’ Dan Boeckner and Sam Brown of New Bomb Turks conbine to form a killer new band.
Iceland’s Of Monsters and Men have exploded into the psyche of music listeners with their debut My Head Is An Animal debuting at #3 in the UK and #6 on the Billboard Charts in the U.S. ). Based on our reviews of their SXSW, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands performances this is a must see band.
