This Saturday, the 30th, Audiotisic is going down.  And rocking one of the four stages (The Boombox stage, to be exact) is hip-hop new kids The Cool Kids.  This Detroit/Chicago based duo will be representing that MidWest ruthlessness out in sunny SoCal.  Read after the jump to find out a little more about this group, and check out the event info:

These guys are fresh off their July 12th release of their second full length album, When Fish Ride Bicycles.  The album is a fresh, young sound in hip-hop, with an upbeat feel perfect for summer and a body-moving blend of dirty bass and funky electro sounds.  Lyrically, The Cool Kids are all over the map: sometimes, they have the generic rapper tongue, rhyming about cars, money, and women; other times, they have hilariously kid-like lyrics, such as in their hometown homage, "Bundle Up."  They're a cool mix of Kanye's musicality, the dark wit of Big Boi from Outkast, with little hint of that Will-Smith-flat-topped-fresh-faced-funk.  If you're at Audiotistic, be sure to catch their set.

Claire Gallagher

Claire Gallagher is from Las Vegas, Nevada.  She grew up under blinking signs for Girls, Girls, Girls! and she hummed to the clanky sounds of slot machines in casinos and grocery stores and airports.   She now attends school at UCLA and is becoming very intimately acquainted with the kick-ass music scene Los Angeles so sweetly provides. When Claire is not on the back of a horse or playing with her pet snake, Skittles, she is listening to music, eating orange chicken, or spinning around in her rolly chair.  She is fond of tyrannosaurus rexes, John Steinbeck, and the fleeting feeling of post-concert deafness.  You can check her out on tumblr as well.
