Vanaprasta

Vanaprasta has rocked Sunset Strip Music Fest, conquered a residency at the Echo, and rocked out at the infamous CMJ Music Fest in Brooklyn- and it’s no secret why the group is gaining so much recognition recently.  Their vintage vocals and eloquently composed tracks offer both an Americana/ 60s rock/ with a bit of an ambient edge is just what the doctor ordered to usher in twenty-eleven.

Aside from their recent non stop showcases and various coast to coast performances, Vanaprasta is also gaining radio play at a fast rate (most recently spotted on 98.7 for all you rockaholics out there!) and halfway through my in the car concert party of one style I realized the sweet little tune I was casually rocking along with was none other than Vanaprasta’s “color of sin”- one of the tunes I told BNB dot com’s readers to watch out for.  (That, and Minnesota!)

If you haven’t been lucky enough to make it out to one of Vanaprasta’s shows recently, you get a second chance!  Vanaprasta will be rocking the Echo this Thursday, December 9 (alongside another BNB.com rec- Rumspringa!) and I highly recommend you grab your closest partner in crime and get your socks rocked off- before they start playing bigger venues!

Now- how does it get better?  It does.  One lucky reader will win a limited edition Vanaprasta 7 inch vinyl!  These have been going quickly but we were lucky enough to hook one reader up, so leave a comment stating why you should be said reader and we’ll announce the reader Thursday morning! Good luck, and may the force be with you!

Want to preview the show?  Head to www.myspace.com/vanaprasta for more info- and don’t forget to check out “color of sin” & “Minnesota” while you’re cyberstalking the group!
