With their new album Ownerless debuting on Billboard’s Top 100 “Heatseekers” chart (their highest-rated album debut to date), Everest has just premiered the album’s first video. Drawn from the album’s title track, the “Ownerless” video was released this morning.
“The first thing that came to mind for inspiration when listening to the song was this image of endless driving highway at night. That and black-and-white,” say directors The General Assembly. “The song has such a distinct mood that just sounded like ominous film noir to us. Out of that we sought to communicate the idea of escaping the trappings of the comfortable modern world and heading out into the vast freedom of nature.” Singer/guitarist Russ Pollard adds, “What I love most about this video is the sense of confusion, and much like the new album, its imagery is left to the interpretation of the viewer/listener. Nothing is over-served or forced, and it’s darn pretty too.”
We’ve raved about these guys in our album review and now it’s time to take a peek and what they can do visually. Watch the video below
