We were introduced to the band, The Lone Bellow, earlier this year when we reviewed their self-titled Americana debut, on Descendant Records. Our Nashville-based writer said “the collection is rooted in a Southern upbringing, a gospel-folk sensibility and a tragic past” in his review. What a surprise, then, to discover that the trio is based, in of all places, Brooklyn.
Fast-forward to the present and it’s a pleasure to see that The Lone Bellow have just announced a six-week headlining tour for this fall, starting October 22 in Atlanta in Terminal West and concluding December 11 in Los Angeles at the Troubadour. They’ll also be performing at New York’s prestigious Carnegie Hall on October 18 at a show presented by local college-alternative radio station, WFUV. The complete itinerary is available on the band’s website.
The band (Zach Williams on guitar and lead vocals, Kanene Pipkin on mandolin and vocals, and Brian Elmquist on guitar and vocals) have just released a new single, the crowd pleaser, “Green Eyes and a Heart of Gold.”
