BestNewBands.com’s Best Artist of 2010 is…. Medium Troy!

mediumtroy

This Eugene, Oregon-based band first hit the scene in the fall of 2006. Since then, Medium Troy has taken their signature “bohemian dub” sound all across the west coast, most recently on a few dates of the Vans Warped Tour earlier this summer. Undoubtedly, though, MT’s biggest fans are at home, where they’ve been voted Favorite Local Band for the last few years – and now that devotion has spread to BestNewBands.com, where Medium Troy beat out big acts such as LCD Soundsystem, Gogol Bordello and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros to win the title of Best Artist of 2010.

For those who have yet to experience “bohemian dub” in the flesh, here’s a clip of Medium Troy performing at the Oregon Country Fair this summer:

Connah Jay, MT’s resident turntablist, also spins when the band isn’t playing a show. Here’s a clip from his set at the EOTO dubstep party:

Medium Troy is constantly remixing and releasing music, so check the band’s Facebook page (as well as Connah Jay’s) for all the latest tracks. And if you’re in the Eugene area for New Year’s, make sure to hit up their New Year’s Eve party at the WOW Hall – a venue the band has sold out every time they play a show there. MT’s latest EP, Space Tree, is available for free download here.

Congratulations, again, to Medium Troy for winning Best Artist of 2010 at BestNewBands.com!
