Friday night is another free show at the breezy South Street Seaport, and I can’t think of a better sign that heading to Pier 17 after getting off work on a Friday night is exactly the right thing to do than the fact that it’s Weekend playing with The Wake, starting at 7pm. To me, that spells out my future right there, and that’s where I’ll be. That, and the fact that Weekend’s echoing punk psych sound waves floating through my ears on the river breeze could quite possibly be magic.

Weekend – Coma Summer by Slumberland Records

I previously previewed Weekend back in April, and haven’t had a chance to see them since. This looks like Weekend’s last tour date for the summer, and also being free and at the Seaport makes finally catching this show even better. Weekend’s songs are made to be jammed out, and seeing that live has got to be the best way to experience them.
