Via Audio Playing an Intimate Set at Moscot on Saturday

Hey guys, remember that review I wrote back in December of Via Audio at Brooklyn Bowl? Probably not, but that’s ok. Basically, I talked about how awesome the Brooklyn-based band is, how their sassy funk sound is immediately infectious, and how much I loved their quirky, perfectly written songs like “Babies” and “Developing Active People.” But I also mentioned that Brooklyn Bowl wasn’t really a great venue for them. Because of the bowling noise and the divided attention of their audience, a lot of the little touches that make Via Audio so good were lost. I wished that I could see them play in a more intimate venue.

Well my wish has come true! On Saturday at 3:00 in the afternoon, Via Audio will be stopping by Moscot, a vintage eyewear shop/concert venue, for an acoustic show. Concertgoers will get to see the band spectacled face to spectacled face. I don’t know what to expect from an acoustic Via Audio set, which makes it even more exciting. My hope is that the amazing counterpoint between guitarist Tom Deis and vocalist Jessica Martin will come out more than it did at Brooklyn Bowl, or at any of their plugged-in shows for that matter.

Via Audio is a fan favorite at BestNewBands.com, and their song “Babies,” was voted the number one song of 2010 by our readers. You can see an HD video of “Babies” live here. They’re currently on tour with Jamaica, and this Moscot show is the only show left in New York. If you’re in the area do yourself a favor and check it out.
