Oooh Baby Baby!

babybaby

Georgia’s Baby Baby isn’t playing around with Money, released today. On the surface, this band looks and sounds like every wild party’s soundtrack: loud, guitar-driven rock with somewhat slurred lyrics. And it’s true that Baby Baby would make the perfect backdrop to a raucous college shindig, kegs and all.

Falcon Soars with Disappear

falconalbum

I listened to Falcon’s self-released album, Disappear, one morning while puttering around. I couldn’t see my computer as the tracks played, and more than once, I thought I had left my iTunes on shuffle. I heard songs that sounded like Placebo, Arcade Fire, MGMT and Ratatat. The Winebirds Fly High at The Woods

winebirds1

Portland’s Winebirds can be likened to Fleetwood Mac, if they had grown up watching a lot of The Partridge Family. That’s what my camera guy, Alex, said about them as we were leaving their show at The Woods Saturday night. It wasn’t an insult- he liked them a lot. It’s just that the Winebirds’s mixture
