Jasmine van den Bogaerde, better known to audiences as Birdy, will release a US-only EP, Breathe, on Atlantic Records this Tuesday, September 24. The 17-year-old British singer-songwriter, known for winning a UK singing competition, has seen her cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” rack up nearly 50 million views on YouTube.
The five-track Breathe includes a studio version and a live from Abbey Road version of lead single “Wings,” as well as a version of “Skinny Love,” performed live at the Sydney Opera House.
A full-length album, Fire Within, will be released in the US in spring 2014. Birdy’s self-titled 2011 LP, issued to capitalize on her early fame, was certified gold in the UK and scored huge chart success in numerous other countries.
