Caged Animals Releases 2nd Album, Commences Tour

Brooklyn-based songwriter Vincent Cacchione, who records as Caged Animals, has just released the group’s second album, In The Land Of Giants, on Lucky Number Music.  His band will support the effort with an 18-city US club tour this month with Darwin Deez.

On his website, Cacchione provides a track-by-track commentary and a complete stream of the LP.  Of the lead track, “Too Much Dark,” he describes how he was “fueled by the previous night’s performance” of his former band and wrote the track “in a fever in about five minutes,” calling it “one of the purest feelings I’ve ever been able to put into song.”

He calls the uptempo, outlaw love song, “Cindy + Me,” an “update on Bonnie & Clyde for the digital generation” with the oft-repeated refrain “We’re on the top of the world!”  Of the album’s closer, “What You’re Looking For,” with its soft church organ sound, Cacchione writes that the song is “about patience and faith and family.”

The full list of tour dates, including LA’s Troubador and Lincoln Hall in Chicago, ends in a homecoming of sorts at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory.  The complete tour is on Caged Animals’ Facebook page.
