New York – Today, just in time to celebrate Halloween, Charli XCX released the official music video for “After The Afterparty.” Directed by Diane Martel (Miley Cyrus, N.E.R.D, Beyoncé), the video sees Charli partying into the afterlife with a host of all-pink zombies! Of the video, Charli XCX said:
“I made the video for ‘After The Afterparty’ with my all-time favourite director, Diane Martel. The song is about partying into the afterlife and nobody does that better than zombies – they’re the ultimate party monsters. We shot through the night for two days straight, and I’m so pleased that some of my musical collaborators on the album turned into the undead and stepped into XCX world, especially for this video. Shout-out A.G. Cook. Shout-out SOPHIE. Shout-out Diane Martel. Shout Out Lisa TV and to everyone that made it happen.”
The inimitable talent that is Charli XCX delivers a fresh new single “After The Afterparty,” starring Atlanta-born up-and-coming rapper Lil Yachty, marking a hugely exciting return for the pop starlet, who is currently in the studio putting finishes touches to her third studio album. Produced by FRED (Raye) and Stargate (Rihanna), with additional production by SOPHIE (PC Music), “After The Afterparty” is available now on Atlantic Records, via iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.
British-born Charlotte Aitchison has established herself as a trailblazing figure in pop music over the past four years with her refreshingly entrepreneurial spirit and unique flair for penning global #1 hits and pushing boundaries with her idiosyncratic style. Last February the multi-talented Miss XCX unveiled her all-new record label Vroom Vroom Recordings (a subsidiary of Atlantic Records UK), alongside her experimental SOPHIE-produced Vroom Vroom EP, spawning the slick video for lead track “Vroom Vroom.” In addition, Charli launched her very own Beats1 radio show called The Candy Shop, which has aired regularly through the year and seen her mix with guests from all walks of her career, including music-royalty Blondie’s Debbie Harry!
Following the 2013 release of her critically-acclaimed debut album True Romance, Charli’s second studio album SUCKER was released in February 2015 to huge celebration, as she continued her rise to musical superstardom. A collection of bold, guitar-led tracks focusing on the ecstasies of love and heartbreak, the LP received rave reviews across the globe with the likes of Rolling Stone featuring the LP in its “Top Albums of 2015.” SUCKER spawned the dreamy and infectious USA/UK Top 10 and six million-selling single “Boom Clap” firstly, which soundtracked the huge teen blockbuster The Fault in Our Stars. XCX’s solo hit has now reached Double Platinum in the United States, Australia, and Canada and Gold in the U.K.
