Charli XCX’s Sophomore Album ‘Sucker’ Revealed W/ “Break The Rules” Single!

Charli XCX

New York – Following the release of her Top 10 hit, ‘Boom Clap’ – which has now sold over 1 Million copies in the US – and recent win at this year’s Teen Choice Awards (‘Best R&B/Hip-Hop Song’ for “Fancy”), Charli XCX is very pleased to announce details of her highly-anticipated sophomore album “Sucker,” arriving October 21 through Neon Gold/Atlantic Records featuring a brand new single, ‘Break The Rules’.

New single ‘Break The Rules’ sees Charli XCX – 22-year-old Charlotte Aitchison from London – return with a badass floor-filler, oozing rebellion and attitude, which is set to ignite the airwaves in the coming months. Charli commented – “The song is inspired by a lot of the things I was listening to whilst in Sweden at the end of last year. I spent about a month making a punk record and covering songs by Swedish punk bands like Snuffed By The Yakuza. This song was written when I came out of the other side of that punk phase and translated it into something more pop.”

Over the last 18 months Charli’s rise to international pop stardom has been nothing short of meteoric. From releasing her dark-pop record “True Romance” in 2013 to a wealth of critical acclaim, Charli has toured the globe with the likes of Coldplay and Ellie Goulding, written and featured on one of 2013’s biggest hits ‘I Love It’ with Swedish duo Icona Pop, co-written and featured on the global, four million-selling hit ‘Fancy’ with Iggy Azalea, scored a UK and US Top 10 hit with ‘Boom Clap’ + more.

“Boom Clap,” “Fancy” and “I Love It” combined have sold over 14 Million copies worldwide.

Tune in this weekend, too! Charli XCX is nominated for 6 MTV Video Music Awards at this Sunday’s ceremony, including ‘Artist to Watch’; where she’ll also be doing a very special performance of ‘Boom Clap’ live during the pre-show.
