New York – L.A. electro-pop band LANY has released the new single “like you lots,” from its new six-song EP kinda. The 80s heavy, modern R&B track is the perfect fit for summer. In “like you lots,” Frontman Paul Klein sings, “you are my number one,” and for us, LANY is the number one pick for summer fun.
kinda also featuring the singles “Where The Hell Are My Friends” and “yea, babe, no way,” as well as four previously unreleased tracks. The trio, who was a Best New Bands Featured Artist, just concluded its first headline tour, having sold out every single date well before the band played the first show of tour, with the demand to accommodate fans resulting in extra dates being added and rooms extended. So far this festival season, LANY has performed at Sasquatch!, Bonnaroo, and Firefly. The threesome will also be performing at Mamby on the Beach, Outside Lands, and Life is Beautiful this summer.
After catching the 80s influenced trio’s performance at a sold-out House of Blues show in Chicago, Best New Bands made it a point to see LANY’s set at Bonnaroo. At both shows, LANY put on a fun, energetic show, and fans sang along word for word to songs like “ILYSB” and “Made in Hollywood.” At Bonnaroo, band members Paul Klein, Les Priest, and Jake Goss were all on familiar turf, as the three all lived in Nashville before relocating to L.A.
LANY formed when the former school friends collaborated on songs that Klein had written and within days the three had created a clutch of anthems too good to ignore. Even at this early stage, the guys’ songs connected on a large scale: the blissful dream-pop of “ILYSB” made big waves online and has over 15 million Spotify plays so far. The single “Where The Hell Are My Friends” is already nudging 4 million plays. LANY creates music that makes the intimate feel universal, while connecting the group indelibly with a growing fanbase.
LANY will embarking on another North American headlining tour this fall. We highly suggest you snag yourself some tickets for the kinda tour asap, before this tour sells out, like the Make Out Tour. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
