Seattle – Influential radio station KEXP has just released a live, filmed session of electronic group Poliça, with six songs from their recent performance at Bumbershoot Festival.

Poliça recently released their Raw Exit 10″ on Mom+Pop. The EP includes the lead single, “Raw Exit,” and the band’s rendition of the Lesley Gore ballad, “You Don’t Own Me,” that they’ve been performing live.

Combining R&B, synth, and frontwoman Channy Leaneagh’s hauntingly beautifully auto-tuned vocals, Poliça embody that effortlessly cool funkiness synonymous with the Minneapolis sound.

We caught Poliça live last fall and our Caroline MacDonald described Leaneagh’s “charismatic mystique.”  The group begins a U.S. tour in a few weeks and will then take a break and go back to the studio.
