Los Angeles – Public Access T.V. is excited to share their new track ‘End of an Era’, which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show yesterday (August 31st.) The track, off forthcoming album Never Enough, is out September 30, 2016 on Cinematic. The garage band successfully nabbed the attention of NME early on, with the outlet singing their praises after uploading just one song to SoundCloud. The quartet was later declared “New York City’s hottest new band” by the extremely influential outlet. Consequence of Sound also raves about the band admitting “every once in a while, an impossibly young band still manages to rocket their way to festival slots and massive praise by virtue of being kickass. That’s Public Access T.V.” Check out the track here.
The band is hot off of Bonnaroo and Governor’s Ball Festivals- all before even releasing their first album. In addition, both NME, and Entertainment Weekly declared the group one of the “buzziest” bands at SXSW this past year. Extremely high praise for a festival boasting thousands of artists!
Then, in March 2015, while on tour in California, the band flicked on the TV to see live pictures of their Manhattan loft on every single news channel. Their home was on fire from a gas explosion and had collapsed into rubble. “We wrote there, rehearsed, recorded, lived, everything,” says John. “It was home…and then it was completely gone.”
Demoralized and thousands of miles from NYC, PATV did the only thing they could think of. They stayed out on the road. As John says: “We told our agent to book as many gigs as possible – because we didn’t want to deal with the reality of the situation. We actually had nowhere to go.”
That chain of events set PATV on an entirely new and fruitful path. Among those frantic gig bookings were slots on European festivals, UK house parties, and dates with The Strokes, FIDLAR, Palma Violets, and Hinds, with many more big things to come for the group!
