Toro y Moi ’s Chaz Bundick Introduces Side Project: Les Sins

Les Sins - Toro Y Moi - Chaz Bundick

San Francisco – This week Chaz Bundick (of Toro y Moi fame) embarks on a month-long tour across North America as Les Sins, Bundick’s dance music side project.  The tour, supporting his recent debut release as Les Sins, Michael (on Company Record Label), starts in Vancouver and ends in Austin, with stops in major cities in Canada and the USA including Los Angeles, New York, Montreal, Miami, Chicago, and Washington DC, among others. The indie soul performer will also headline (as Les Sins) a show in Portland, OR on New Year’s Eve, at Holocene.

Michael is an exploration of disco-fueled dance music, full of carefully selected samples and infectious beats, and his live show—whether it be a continuous mix, or of the classic style—is sure to be a real crowd-pleaser, especially for those who are down with up-tempo, percussive songs with pleasing loops and startling backbeats.

We’ve been a fan of Bundick’s career for a long time—as both Toro y Moi as well as his somewhat sporadic career as Les Sins—so we are curious and excited to see what he has in store on this tour, especially for this week’s show at 1015 Folsom, a highly regarded energetic club located in the heart of the SoMa district.  Best New Bands reviewed a Toro y Moi concert exactly a year ago and even earlier described him in a nutshell: “A voice like velvet with beats that make you dance hard.”
