Los Angeles – Tel Aviv-based shoegaze/dream pop band, Vaadat Charigim, have just announced their sophomore album, Sinking As A Stone. The record is slated for release on May 19 via Burger Records / Anova Music. Today fans have something to cheer over, as the trio have shared a new song off the record titled, “Hashiamum Shokea.”

Vaadat Charigim are: Yuval Haring (guitar, vocals), Yuval Guttman (drums) and Dan Fabian Bloch (bass).
Since forming in 2012, the band has been very influential on the Israeli rock scene, due to their widely covered debut record, and their rapidly growing international fan base.
The band has earned critical acclaim across the globe, despite their music not being translated from Hebrew – an unprecedented achievement for a contemporary Israeli rock band. Vaadat Charigim project a unique sound that derives from their uncommon mixture of 80s and 90s Israeli rock with international indie rock of same decades. This paired with the band’s devotion to singing in the Hebrew language, with all its aesthetic and rhythmic oddities, makes them a group with few musical parallels.
Sinking as a Stone follows the Israeli trio’s debut, The World is Well Lost and this second record is a continuation of the band’s search for meaning in a war stricken, disorderly world. This new album was again recorded by the band from their studio in Tel Aviv, over the course of several months and was produced by Kyle “Slick” Johnson. However, in a departure from the first album, which tackled the subject of catastrophe more extensively, Sinking as a Stone is a record about boredom –in the existential sense – exploring it as a moment of clarity, of feeling time passing, of being aware of one’s self. This boredom is dissected further with each track, every song symbolizing different states of boredom in which a young Israeli can find him or herself.
Sinking as a Stone is part two of the band’s “Tel Aviv” trilogy, with most songs lyrically illuminating the local bohemian states of mind.
