New York – Fresh off their recent, successful performances at Riot Fest, Irish rockers Wounds have signed a multi-album deal with Razor & Tie. The first LP under the new agreement will be Die Young, to be released in North America on November 25.
Here’s a brief trailer for the album:
Dublin-based Wounds have released one EP, Dead Dead Fucking Dead, and have showcased their blistering live shows for the last few years all over the world. The band began work on their debut full-length album, but was cut short when guitarist James Coogan fell from a four-story balcony. He was on life support for three months with a number of months in intensive care and recovery. Losing full sight in one eye and going through reconstructive surgery, Coogan proved the doctors wrong who said he would never pick up a guitar again.
Of last weekend’s Riot Fest Chicago performance, Best New Bands’ Sarah Hess wrote: “These guys are crazy…which makes them all the more fun! While Aidan (Coogan) screamed and shook his hips like Elvis, his brother James violated his guitar. Man, can that boy riff!” Look for Sarah’s interview with the band, coming soon.
Wounds will perform this Sunday at Riot Fest Denver and then begin a month-long U.S. tour on October 8, with Finch and Maps & Atlases.
