For the first time in recent memory, new bands ruled the radio waves. It could be terrestrial or satellite radio, no matter what the medium, you could hear new bands in way you could actively seek out bands like never before. Thus, we were able to hear songs from bands that we would have never been able to before if not for the new ways to consume music, and thus, led to our choices for the Best Song of the Year.
