The Dunwells, (a promising group that Best New Bands has taken notice of over the past few years) an indie rock quartet hailing from Leeds, England, have announced the release of a new track off their forthcoming project, Lucky Ones. The extended play is due to be released in late May. Showing an abundance of motivation and plenty of inspiration for new material, this collection of tracks is a follow-up from the band’s last project, Show Me Emotion, an EP which only just dropped last September.
The Americana style-inspired foursome, comprised of brothers David and Joseph Dunwell, along with their friends Adam Taylor and Robert Clayton, released the previous four-track EP with a solid and reputable music vet behind them. Produced by Steve Harris (Kodaline, Kaiser Chiefs) the 2014 EP features an incredibly emotional set of songs, with heartfelt lyrics and four part harmonies to melt even the hardest of hearts.
Not letting up and not losing creative steam, The Dunwells have brought this new song to life with the help of producer James Flannigan (Andrew McMahon, Kodaline) and mixing engineer Manny Marroquin (Maroon 5, Whitney Houston, John Mayer). The titular track, and first single, “Lucky Ones,” is a lively song that easily possesses the potential, and practically screams for, an arena-sized, energetic, sing-a-long. It has become a go-to favorite for the band –particularly during their last, headlining tour in the U.K.

The gentlemen of The Dunwells came together as a band through their mutual enthusiasm for bands that include: Elbow, Bon Iver and Damien Rice. That initial jumping point led them to begin making music together–something the group has done ever since they first met while in school.
Already harboring the experience of a full album in the band’s discography (Blind Sighted Faith, 2012), and several trips well-received tour shows that spanned the U.S. and U.K. –including two sold-out shows at The Wardrobe in Leeds, “The Lucky Ones” EP is sure to give fans worldwide, an enticing preamble before The Dunwells release their sophomore studio album, slated for release later this year in September.
