Los Angeles - Young Fathers, the ambitious trio from Edinburgh, Scotland, are right on the edge of releasing their new album, White Men Are Black Men Too; some of the music of which has already been on repeat in many playlists since the release of the single, “Shame” back in March. The sophomore effort will be dropped in just a few short days on April 7. The eclectically composed 12-track album was written and recorded over the course of last year while the band were out on tour all over the globe, with the project reaching and completion when they arrived back at their studio in Edinburgh.
Those who can hardly wait for the new music to come can breathe a sigh of relief. Young Fathers have made the entire album available for streaming via SoundCloud. Check it out here!
The three gentlemen are all set to propel the energy of their new album to even more new people and places, with a packed North American tour scheduled to start next Thursday, April 9 in Boston, MA.

Alloysious Massaquoi, ‘G’ Hastings and Kayus Bankole are the men of Young Fathers. These three individuals are all named after their fathers. This brings them together with a unique bond and they have formed a group that tests the walls of expected definitions. Young Fathers bring forth a sound that is all at once rock and pop, hip-hop and punk –not to mention anything else by which listeners might be inspired to classify them. In actuality though, the trio exist as their own individual slice of artistry, not held to any cookie-cutter standard. The band’s 2014 debut, DEAD, was hailed as an exceptionally original record and earned the newcomers the highly coveted praise of last year’s Mercury Prize, which is noted as the highest available honor for an album in the UK. DEAD included single “GET UP,” which was performed by the group on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last summer. The captivating performance was Young Fathers’s debut on U.S. late night television and was the bridge that brought the group’s dynamic live show over to U.S. homes for the first time ever and has helped make them a presence to be reckoned with on both sides of the pond.
