BestNewBands.com Mixtape #4

Slam-Donahue-promo-5x7

Insert bugle call here – our Mixtape #4 has arrived! This week features our Artist of the Week Lord Huron, a shoutout to Frank Ocean and The Lumineers for their nods from the Grammys and us, Liz Livengood’s favorite track off the Dirty Projector’s new EP, which she reviewed, and a lovely Sóley tune, who was the subject of our latest interview.

Brand new tracks include the latest from:

Lazyeyes – a new young and fun dream punk band rising on the Brooklyn scene.

Neonfaith – from Queens, NY, this trio is the result of a collaboration between a producer/engineer and pianist who previously were known for their hip hop beats, and are now joining forces with a soul/blues singer songwriter to create some seriously infectious jams.

Slam Donahue – Now a quartet, they were one of Nylon Mag’s ‘Need to Know’ bands during CMJ, and their recently released Hemlock Tea EP has gotten much praise for how fun and catchy it is. Listen for yourself with the “C’mon C’mon” track off the EP.

Elin RuthWe covered this soulful Swede with American folk rock influences this past Spring when she toured with Ane Brun. She just released a new EP called Bang, and we’ve got that title track on the mix below.

Jemez Mountain Hawkz – this LA-based group is made up of members from The Shins and Scared of Chaka, and have a great laid-back, dusky twang thing happening on their first offering, “Long Ride Home.”

Please enjoy, Mixtape #4.
