Brooklyn’s best “nervous soul pop” group Ava Luna has just announced some good news: a new video and a tour! Their Lonesome Tundra Tour 2013 will begin in New London, CT on January 11, wind around the country, and end up back home in NYC at Pianos on January 30. Joining them for select dates on the tour will be Celestial Shore and Zorch. Full list of dates below.
Ava Luna will be playing tunes from this past year’s acclaimed Ice Level LP, and they’ve got some new songs off a “mystery release” they’ll be debuting. And speaking of Ice Level – they now have an awesomely artistic video for the title track. Back when we interviewed the band before one of their Mercury Lounge shows, Becca Kauffman talked about how she couldn’t talk about it (the lyrics, that is), but that it was her very first go at writing lyrics and she was nervous about saying them out loud. She’s certainly all confidence in the video, easily escaping a mob of crocheted-faced partiers to get out into the light of outside. Try to escape her gaze in this:
