In case you aren’t aware yet, one of our favorite new bands, SoCal slacker/punk/surf rockers FIDLAR, are set to hit the road for the next couple of weeks with another personal favorite, Swedish indie garage vets The Hives. Having seen the Swedes perform at Coachella in April, I can truly say for those of you lucky to catch this show, that means you Northeasterners, which includes our friends in Montreal and Toronto, you are a lucky bunch.
We profiled FIDLAR in our Artist of the Week section when they were in the midst of playing 8 or 9 shows (seriously, when you play that many gigs, who’s counting?) at SXSW and since then, they released their debut EP via Mom + Pop Records with the finishing touches being put on their full-length, which is slated to be released this summer.

These guys are the real deal and they way mix together elements of the aforementioned genres, and yes, their epic lives shows makes this one of the best shows of the summer. If you put FIDLAR together with The Hives, you’re not only going to see a hell of a live show, but get to have “I saw them when…” moments. So, that being said, if you have the opportunity, PLEASE, I’m implore you, go to one of these shows. And if it doesn’t blow your mind, I will refund your money.
Here are the dates where FIDLAR will be opening for The Hives:
June 20th – Philadelphia, PA – Electric Factory
June 22nd – New York, NY – Terminal 5
June 23rd – Boston, MA – House of Blues
June 25th – Montreal, QC – Metropolis
June 26th – Toronto, ON – Sound Academy
June 27th – Pontiac, MI – Clutch Cargo
