Hollywood – Grammy nominated U.K. band Bastille will celebrate the September 9th release of its new album, Wild World (Virgin Records), with a short North American run. ”The Born To Be Wild World North American Mini Tour” tour will include headline shows at six intimate venues, including the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY (October 3), New York City’s Bowery Ballroom (October 4), and the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA (October 9 and 10). Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Thursday and Friday, August 11 and 12. See below for itinerary and specific on sale dates and times.
Bastille will also perform at the 89X Chill On The Hill Fest in Sterling Heights, MI on September 30 and headline the fourth annual Jeep on the Rocks Concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on October 7. Tickets for these shows are available for purchase now at the Bastille website. A more extensive North American tour is being planned for 2017. Bastille has played numerous summer festivals, including Lollapalooza, Osheaga, and Glastonbury, where the band’s set drew one of the largest crowds of the festival and was praised by NME as “a masterclass in how to win Glastonbury.”
The band recently performed ”Good Grief,” the first single from Wild World, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The new album follows Bastille’s 2013 full-length debut, Bad Blood, which has sold more than four million albums worldwide alongside 11 million singles. Wild World is a collection of 14 songs (19 on the deluxe edition) penned by vocalist Dan Smith and co-produced with Mark Crew. Fans who pre-order the new album digitally HERE will instantly receive the tracks ”Good Grief” and “Fake It.”
“Good Grief” is already a Top 10 hit at Alternative and Triple A radio in the U.S. In the U.K., the track reached No. 1 on Apple Music’s Hot Tracks chart, topped the Shazam chart and is currently the No. 2 airplay song. It’s also charted on Spotify’s Global, U.S. and U.K. Charts. Views for the official ”Good Grief” video are nearing three million.
Dan Smith started Bastille alone in his bedroom five years ago, releasing 300 copies of debut single “Flaws/Icarus.” Joined by Chris Wood (drums), Will Farquarson (guitar), and Kyle Simmons (keyboards), the band line-up was complete. Bastille’s debut album, Bad Blood, contained the 5x Platinum single “Pompeii” and the Gold-certified tracks “Bad Blood” and “Flaws.” ”Pompeii” topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs and Adult Alternative Songs charts and peaked at No. 3 on the Pop Songs chart.
