Los Angeles – Rock duo, The Bots, announced today that they will be departing on tour this summer in support of an Incubus and Deftones co-headlining tour along with Death From Above 1979. The tour starts on July 22 in Clarkston, MI and finishes at the end of the summer on August 30 in San Diego, CA.
Tickets for all the shows go on sale April 24 unless otherwise noted.
Information on the full list of dates is below!
Mikaiah Lei (Lead Vocal, Guitar, Bass) and Anaiah Lei (Drums & Percussions, Backing Vocal), who make up The Bots, also just completed a run of US shows with Australia’s The Preatures –who were interviewed by Best New Bands earlier this year.
In addition to live shows, The Bots are also very excited to be a participating artist in the newly announced Fender Accelerator campaign. The campaign provides tour support for emerging bands: a 15-passenger van, promotional and marketing support and Fender gear. The time artists spend on the road will be logged using GoPro cameras and shared with the hashtag #FENDERXLR8R.
The Bots also recently shared a music video for their track, “Blinded.” The video was directed by Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead. Watch the video here, as well as a behind-the-scenes video featuring Reedus.
Speaking of video and television, the band also made their network television debut in February, performing “Blinded” on Late Night with Seth Meyers. The pair is also presently starring in Mitsubishi’s “Every Mile Matters” TV commercial. The national ad placement features the track “All Of Them (Wide Awake)” from their album. The same song was also featured in a stripped-down performance for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
Mikaiah Lei and Anaiah Lei recorded their first album together when they were just 15 and 12 respectively. The two self-released their first three albums and completed two Vans Warped Tours, two AFROPUNK Fests, multiple European festivals, and support tours with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blur, Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, Refused, and Bad Brains, before releasing their EP, Sincerely Sorry, on FADER Label in 2013. Since then, their full length debut, Pink Palms, which was released in October, also via FADER Label, has received lots of positive praise.
