Brooklyn’s (Via Johannesburg) St. Lucia Announces Tour, Performs On Kimmel

New York – Jean-Philip Grobler’s synth pop outfit, St. Lucia, has announced their 2014 headlining tour to promote their recently released, unabashedly upbeat, full-length debut, When The Night (Columbia Records).  The Jan.-Feb. itinerary includes three sold-out dates at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg (where a fourth show has been added).  The tour then swings through the midwest before finishing up on the west coast on Feb. 12 at LA’s El Rey Theater.

St. Lucia made their network television debut this week, performing lead single, “Elevate,” on Jimmy Kimmel live.

Grobler was born in Johannesberg, South Africa and performed with the Drakensberg Boys Choir.  His travels ultimately took him to New York where he settled in Brooklyn and teamed with friends to form St. Lucia.  There were two EPs in 2012 and lots of extra-curricular work for Grobler, who produced the debut album for labelmates and fellow Brooklyn band, Haerts, remixes for Passion Pit, Foster the People and Charli XCX.
