Los Angeles - Australian singer/songwriter Fraser A. Gorman is getting ready to head Stateside, bringing with him his unique brand of roots, folk, psych, rock and soul, drawing comparisons to everyone from Cass McCombs and Bill Callahan to Woody Guthrie and Beck.
After releasing his album ‘Slow Gum’ in Europe and Australia to unanimous acclaim back in June, Fraser tore apart an opening slot for best mates Courtney Barnett and Bully throughout sold-out UK tours, as well as a smattering of solo sets at this year’s SXSW. We now could not be more excited to be announcing his debut USA live tour coinciding with ‘Slow Gum’s’ long-awaited US release via House Anxiety/ Marathon Artists on October 2nd.
Fraser paints himself as a retro-rock revivalist as he sings ’it’s a strange old time to be in love with Elvis’. However he brings an entirely modern take to the genres he loves while differentiating himself from the music masses. It seems to be working. In the midst of the modern music scene, Gorman is successfully breathing fresh life into yesterday’s tunes, and we can’t get enough.
