New York – Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Mac DeMarco is following up his last release, the widely successful Salad Days, with the announcement of Another One. This news comes nearly one year to the date of the last record.
Another One was developed and recorded entirely by DeMarco over a very brief time between a hectic tour schedule at his new home in Far Rockaway, Queens. The mini-record contains eight, newly written songs, growing DeMarco’s already impressive repertoire. A bittersweet, romantic sentiment can be heard on the album, along with an overall feeling of lost love, or perhaps, love never found. DeMarco tackles these subjects without creating an excessively somber listening experience.
As DeMarco nears his 25th birthday, he’s definitively outgrowing any sort of slacker stigma. Two full-length albums, two EPs, hundreds of sold-out shows performed in the last several years, a television debut on Conan and a special guest performance on The Eric Andre Show serve as plain proof of this. During the summer, DeMarco will be playing festivals all over the country, including Shaky Knees, Pitchfork Music Festival, Austin Psych Fest, Outside Lands, Bonnaroo, Solid Sound and more. (See our live review HERE.) He will continue to tour in support of Another One and shortly following the record’s official release, DeMarco will perform a four-night series of shows in New York, playing the Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall, Music Hall of Williamsburg, and Warsaw. Full show information is below.
Another One comes out August 7, 2015 via Captured Tracks and is available for pre-order now.
Pre-order customers will receive bonus instrumentals of Another One.
