Max Frost Releases New Single “President”

Max Frost - Best New Bands

New York – Inspired by the current presidential primary, the talented Max Frost has released the single “President.” The Austin, Texas soul singer, writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist critiques the American political system – which has become a bit of a sideshow – with a lyrical tongue-lashing, combined with a colorful, psychedelic visualizer. Frost wags his finger at the NSA, Congress’ reckless military spending, corporate media, and candidates clawing for “a chance on the throne.”

Frost says of the song: “This election has shown how disenfranchised my generation has become with our political system. It’s become a TV show and we are merely the observers. Even the popular candidate’s chances are dissolved by the convolution of a broken government that, even after it is exposed, continues to operate as a plutocracy. How are we supposed to care when all outcomes feel the same?”

Max Frost’s EP Intoxication - which features the single “Withdrawal” – hit #1 on Hype Machine. His singles “Paranoia” and “Let Me Down Easy” can currently be heard on TV in promo spots for FX Intoxication lyrically ”personifies love, money, and death as a drug.” The EP follows Frost’s breakthrough single “White Lies” from his debut EP Low High Low. Frost mixes a variety of genres for a fresh, unique sound. In a Best New Bands interview, Max Frost talked of how his sound grew to what it is today: “As a guitar player, I started really with the blues and rock. Then when I started learning other instruments, like bass, that led me more into funk. That’s where it really flourished. By the time I was playing drums and recording my own records, I got more into folk and being a song writer. When I started I started working with hip hop artists in Austin, that’s when I started mixing everything together to make a vocal style that sounded like a sample. That created the whole sound I have now.”

Max Frost has previously toured with Gary Clark Jr., Fitz & The Tantrums, Wild Child, and Grizfolk, but tomorrow Max Frost will embark on his first ever U.S. headline tour, kicking off at The Tank Room in Kansas City and wrapping up at the House of Blues in Dallas on May 14th.
