New York – Elektra/Atlantic recording artist Kaleo have announced the release of their label debut album. A/B arrives on June 10th. The band will celebrate the album’s arrival with a very special sold-out release day show at Los Angeles’s El Rey Theatre.
Primarily recorded in Nashville alongside producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, James Bay), with additional contributions from Mike Crossey, Arnar Guðjónsson and the band, A/B features such extraordinary tracks as “I Can’t Go On Without You,” “No Good,” and the multi-format rock singles, “Way Down We Go” and “All The Pretty Girls”. A/B is available for pre-order now here, and fans who pre-order the album will instantly receive five tracks–the four mentioned above, plus “Vor í Vaglaskógi,” the latest song unveiled from the album. A video for that track premiered today via the band’s YouTube channel.
Recently named by Rolling Stone as one of “10 New Artists You Need To Know,” Kaleo made their late night TV debut last month with a live performance of “Way Down We Go” on TBS’ Conan.
After relocating to Austin, TX from Iceland one year ago, Kaleo sold out their first ever US headline run at the top of 2016. The trek continues with a wide-ranging summer itinerary that includes headline dates, support spots, and performances at an array of radio concerts and festivals, including Hangout Festival, Sasquatch! and Firefly. In addition to the band’s sold-out release day show at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, a number of July headline dates have just been announced. Kaleo’s debut US single, “All The Pretty Girls,” received influential early support from SiriusXM’s The Spectrum before proving a cross-platform success with top 10 play at Triple A radio outlets nationwide, nearly 2.5 million YouTube views, and Spotify streams well in excess of 17 million. NPR described the song as “falsetto-fueled balladry meets Icelandic grandiosity.”
