Nashville Indie Spotlight Returns For Fourth Album

Nashville Indie Spotlight

Nashville - Nashville Indie Spotlight, now in it’s fourth year, has released its latest compilation, out today on Tone Tree Music. This latest installment features 24 songs from 24 independent artists, and is now available for purchase and streaming at all digital services. Physical copies of NIS 2016 will be sold exclusively at Grimey’s in Nashville.

Nashville Indie Spotlight has released four albums each of the last four years, showcasing 101 songs from independent Nashville artists. “It is all about community,” says Shawn Fowler, founder of Tone Tree Music which curates and releases each album. ”The first album in 2012 was inspired by all the great artists I was fortunate to work with and my desire to find a platform to tell more people. I thought that bringing together the fan bases of several artists around one project would help the greater good and inspire discovery. I wanted to shine a light on our diverse music community outside the genres Nashville was known for. So far it is working and still growing.”

This new project highlights some of the leaders in Nashville’s independent music community and many of the new artists who are setting a new course. “The one genre that stands out on this year’s compilation is the growth of indie/alternative pop,” says Shawn Fowler. “There are some artists and producers here that are breaking new ground in this area, and I wanted to make sure this year’s project reflected that. The compilation fits nicely together, and tells a comprehensive story of what is happening with the independent music scene in Nashville. My hope is that this project helps these artists reach more people around the world.”
