New York – Experimental two-piece SOFI TUKKER has unveiled a new music video for the single “Drinkee” from the band’s upcoming debut EP called Soft Animals, to be released July 8th. New York-based musical duo consists of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern. Best New Bands caught the two opening for fellow New Yorkers The Knocks, at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall. Sofi Tukker left quite the impression, singing in Portuguese and using old books as instruments to create irresistible dance beats.

Currently one of the most hotly tipped dance acts around, SOFI TUKKER has already garnered over 3 million Soundcloud streams and over 8 million Spotify streams with tracks like “Drinkee,” “Matadora,” “Déjà Vu Affair,” and “Hey Lion.” The two have lit up blog after blog over the past few months. Now the New York based indie-dance duo has released a brilliant new video for online smash ”Drinkee,” complete with popping jungle scenes and zebra print for a tropical, retro feel.

Following a June U.S. tour with M83, the band recently played its first ever London headline show at White Heat at the Lexington and is now heading off to play several European Festivals over the summer. Sofi Tukker will also reunite with M83 for several North American July dates, as well.
