New York - Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers have released the enthralling first single, “Waiting on Love,” from their highly-anticipated new album, Loved Wild Lost. The song just premiered yesterday and today it is now widely available. Fans can pre-order the complete album now and will receive “Waiting on Love” as an instant download.

Gramblers’s songwriter and guitarist, Deren Ney, who composed “Waiting on Love,” explains that the new track “is about what happens to summer love once summer ends. It’s the nostalgia of keeping that spark alive when reality barges in. And it’s about 12-string guitar blaring out of a stereo.”
Bluhm elaborates on these thoughts, detailing how she felt in response to Ney’s musical ideas for the song: ”When I first heard Deren play ‘Waiting on Love,’ its cheerful cadence almost masked its darker content. I love the juxtaposition of dark and light.”
Last month, the Gramblers were busy promoting their collaborative track, “High Neck Lace,” which features the Magik*Magik Orchestra (Death Cab for Cutie, The Walkmen, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) and right now they are in the middle of a special residency at Schuba’s in Chicago.

Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers teamed up with producer Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse, Josh Ritter) on Loved Wild Lost, which arrives in a few weeks on April 21, 2015. It’s the group’s first time working with an outside collaborator and the end result has brought together the Gramblers’ most compelling assortment of songs to date. The complexly layered compositions form a solid foundation for Bluhm’s unique vocals and increasingly powerful artistry.
Loved Wild Lost is due for release on April 21 via Little Sur Records.
