This weekend my girlfriend and I are going to San Francisco to measure a bridge (not the whole bridge, I’ve been told over and over again). You might have heard of this bridge. It’s called “The Golden Gate Bridge” and wikipedia describes it as “a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean.” I don’t know about that. All I know is that I’ve never been before, but that is about to change come this Sunday.
While I’m visiting the city and what not, I’ll also try to catch a couple of shows if I can squeeze it into my bridge measuring time. I really, really want to see the punk band Abe Vigoda at Bottom of the Hill on Sunday….so, I will! All you San Francisco residents can catch me there. Come say “Hi!”
Although I’m excited for my road trip, I will also be missing some great shows as well. I’m extremely sad I won’t be in San Francisco long enough to see Glass Cake on March 11th, at the Mama Buzz. Glass Cake is a one-woman project fronted by Michelle Shofet, who uses acoustic guitar, layered vocals, and keyboards that sound like toys. I’d encourage everyone who can to go see her and think of me while you do. Actually, If you see me on Sunday at the Abe Vigoda show, I’ll most likely talk your ear off about Glass Cake. Just a warning.
While I’m away Boys II Men will be in Los Angeles on March 11th at Club Nokia. Not super bummed about missing this one.
