Pretense often fails us, having been broken more times than we ourselves have broken hearts. Together we prevail unaffected – applauding the defeated, the lonely and lovelorn, the tactless, the oblivious, and the world’s romantic drunks, knowing that there’s always cause for celebration in the company of woe.
