It was a good week for music this past few days. Kristen talked to Ben Schneider from Lord Huron, who struck her as “a thoughtful and well spoken individual with an uncanny aura of passion and intelligence,” and who regaled her with tales of the road, outdoors inspiration, and the history of the band. Daughn Gibson’s new album, Me Moan, came out, and from my review you might get the notion that I thought it not bad at all.

Brother Sister duo Au Palais introduced new tune “Thrones,”a song about love and desire, told through a story of how passion can fold in on itself and become obsessive and consuming. “We wanted to talk about those feelings in almost classical terms, with imagery of ancient conquests and dark ritual”.
In anticipation of new The Swamps EP, Widowspeak released their first single “True Believer.”
Winter is a Boston, MA shoegaze dream pop band with a doozy of a lead single, “The View.”
Gowanus, Brooklyn as fuzz rockers Lightouts premiered a video for their track “The Big Picture,” featuring some interpretive dance and hooking riffs.
Asheville, NC’s singer/songwriter/lo-fi rocker Jackson Scott shared new single “Together Forever” and announced a nation-wide tour.
Jacco Gardner is a Twenty-four year old Dutch multi-instrumentalist, who crafts songs that could be from a past or future decade that are introspective and full of insight.
Porches is a Brooklyn-based “bummer pop” quintet who has already been featured on a mixtape for their unique combination of booty clap and sad rock, has shared a new track, “Headsgiving.” It’s also a bummer, but looks up.
