The annual 4Knots Festival is taking place this Saturday, June 29, at the gorgeous South Street Seaport, Pier 17 in lower Manhattan. This year is another great lineup, chock full of some of the most promising emerging acts in NYC, and a couple out of towners. Predominately indie rock and post punk, there’s also a touch of hip hop thrown in with Fat Tony, and the headliner is Philly’s psych rocker Kurt Vile. Full lineup below, and to help you get in the mood, blast this 4Knots Spotify Playlist we made for you:
The South Street Seaport is championed for it’s impressive views of the city, monuments like the Brooklyn Bridge, and some old school sailing vessels docked near the pier, among some of the most historic architecture in the borough. Beautiful views, solid music, and a cool breeze off the water is just about the best thing anyone could ask for in the summer. That, and the fact that it’s all FREE. Seriously, if you’re not down with that then you’re missing out.
The free show runs from 1pm-8pm, and then there’s also an after party immediately following at Music Hall of Williamsburg, featuring special guests Clams Casino and Keyboard Kid along with headliner Lil B. That one is not free, and already sold out.
No big, get on down to the free part and spend your Saturday basking in the warm breeze and these bands:
Kurt Vile & The Violators
The Men
Parquet Courts
White Lung
Marnie Stern
Hunters
Reigning Sound
The Babies
