Deer Tick Announce Brooklyn Bowl Residency, Australian Tour

Deer-Tick-10-9

Partisan Records is thrilled to announce that Deer Tick has confirmed a three-week residency at Brooklyn Bowl in December, playing a different album and EP in full at each show. Deer Tick will play Born On Flag Day and More Fuel For The Fire EP on December 5th, The Black Dirt Sessions and Holy Shit It’s Christmas EP on December 12th, and Divine Providence and Tim EP on December 19th. Prior to these shows, the band will play the Rolling Stone and MTV co-presented House of Blues 20th Anniversary Celebration in Los Angeles on December 4th, where they will share the stage with ZZ Top and Flogging Molly. The full list of tour dates is below, and includes an intimate performance at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, as well as shows with My Morning Jacket, Drive By Truckers, and Two Gallants.

These newly announced shows cap off an amazing year for Deer Tick, which included North American and UK tours, as well as appearances at Sasquatch Festival, Forecastle Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Halifax Pop Explosion, and more. In October, WFUV honored front man John McCauley, choosing him to curate and headline their annual Live at Zankel concert series, presented by Carnegie Hall. The special event included performances from Langhorne Slim, Jason Isbell, Mark Sultan, and McCauley’s “supergroup” side-project Diamond Rugs (includes members of Deer Tick, Los Lobos, Black Lips, Dead Confederate, and Six Finger Satellite). Paste Magazine described the show as the “last night of summer camp and everyone’s growing sentimental among the pine cones.”

Deer Tick has performed songs off of their critically acclaimed 2011 album, Divine Providence, on Late Show with David Letterman and The Conan O’Brien Show.  New York Times referred to McCauley as “growly, funny, slyly insightful,” and Rolling Stone, in their “Best of Rock” list, deemed him as one of “rock’s last true wildmen.” SPIN called the Divine Providence “revelatory,” while American Songwriter praised, ”If this sounds like a rave, then you read it correctly. Divine Providence, music that the Creator Himself may have sent, is the best, funniest, most detailed, thrilling blast of rock and roll since The Hold Steady’s Boys And Girls In America.”
