San Francisco’s all-female post-punk trio Grass Widow will be at Warsaw in Greenpoint tonight, along with influential antecedents The Raincoats. No Bra, who kind of sound like the soundtrack to a gothic porno, are also on the lineup. Seeing The Raincoats, who were somewhat of pioneers paving the way for bands like Electrelane, and now Grass Widow, would be enough to get me to this show. The fact that not only does Grass Widow subscribe to many of the same philosophies, but they’re also clever and self-taught in their own way, is what makes me recommend them as a great new band to watch.
