Earlier this month, I interviewed unsigned Troop 41, representing North Carolina. Their single “Do the John Wall,” continues to build momentum in the iTunes Top 100 singles chart, usually reserved for mainstream and Top 40 hits played in supermarkets and malls around the country. The group explained to me that their mission (you can read the interview HERE if you haven’t already) was to get their music heard by as many people as possible. Whether that meant putting it out “do-it-yourself” style or getting signed to a major label and using the additional resources; they were going to make music either way.
BestNewBands.com and its staff have one goal, as well: exposing our readers to as much new music and emerging artists as possible. We like to believe we have our fingers on the pulse of what’s hot and new, but the music industry can be pretty fickle.
With that said, when I get to post:
CONGRATULATIONS TO TROOP 41 ON SIGNING TO UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC!
It’s a small victory for all of us. It’s not just the awesome talent of the soldiers from Raleigh, N.C., but a reflection of the site’s vision and dedication to music. BestNewBands.com fully support all of the acts we cover and we appreciate being a resource as the music industry continues to evolve.
Again, congratulations to Troop 41, and look out for the “next big act” at BestNewBands.com.
