BestNewBands.com faves Alt-J have had a big 2012 and beginning of 2013, which outlined yesterday when we said they were nominated for 3 Brit Awards, including British Breakthrough Act, British Album of the Year, and British Group of the Year. The Brit Awards are the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards and the British equivalent of the American Grammy Awards.
With this higher profile, the Brits have announced that they’ve needed to upgrade a number of shows to larger venues due to overwhelming demand. They’ve toured the States at the end of 2012, and needless to say, those went over well, earning the band a number of accolades from publications across the country. The Mercury Prize winners have a lot to look forward to this year, especially with inevitable festival dates looming large over the already announced dates.
