To Present Showcases At CMJ 2013

New York –, the leading website for reviews, news and interviews with emerging recording artists, is presenting two official showcases for this month’s CMJ Music Marathon.  Both concerts will be in Brooklyn;’s long-time Brooklyn-based writer curated the lineups, identifying and selecting local talent, led by Nick Cave back-up singer Shilpa Ray, and Caged Animals.

The full lineup features blues-rock singer Shilpa Ray with her unique kind of harmonium punk that borders on theatrical jazz; songwriter Vincent Cacchione’s band Caged Animals; Kissing Is A Crime (featuring members of indie band Soft Black); indie pop band Grand Resort; jangle-psych band Eastern Hollows; indie act Clouty; alternative rock band The Veda Rays; rockers Haybaby; and four-piece shoegaze outfit Surfing.

On October 15, will present five bands at Bar Matchless (557 Manhattan Ave., Brooklyn).  The lineup: 

8:00 - Clouty

8:45 - Eastern Hollows

9:30 - Grand Resort

10:15 - Kissing Is A Crime

11:00 - Shilpa Ray

On October 18, will present four bands at The Flat (308 Hooper St., Brooklyn).  The lineup:

9:15 - The Veda Rays 

10:00 - Caged Animals
