This Thursday, December 30th, revel in between-holiday melancholia with the delightfully subdued sound of The Danvilles at Silverlake Lounge. If you haven’t heard of The Danvilles, you may know their lead singer Mike Hindert as the bassist of The Bravery. While the two groups sound far from similar, the level of professionalism in execution and style is very high for both bands. I am especially enamored of the song “I’m Gonna Be Your Ruin”, an atypical indie reggae song with an addictive chorus and snarky lyrics. Feel free to check it out on their Myspace page before the show, but beware: once you hear this song, you’ll only want to hear more. Before the disco glitter fest of New Year’s Eve, treat yourself to a night of indie rock this Thursday. The show begins with blues rock band Verna Beware at 8:00pm. The Danvilles play at 9:00pm, followed by garage rockers Adam Bones at 10:00pm and experimental indie band Repeater at 11:00pm. The show is at Silverlake Lounge, located at 2906 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The cost is $8, and you must be 21 and older to attend.
