Jamie xx by Flavien Prioreau

New York – Jamie xx whose first album In Colour debuted at #12 on the Top Current Album Chart last week and was #1 on the Electronic  and New Artist Album Charts is excited to announce that he will be headlining Verboten StageONE Festival on August 23rd. He will be playing alongside Maya Jane Coles, Andhim, and Matador.

Last week Jamie made his late-night TV debut in the US with an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers.  He performed the single “Loud Places (featuring Romy)” and was joined on the stage by The xx, Jehnny Beth (from Savages), Moses Sumney, Caroline Polachek (from Chairlift), Stella Mozgawa (from Warpaint), Okay Kaya and the Harlem Choir!

The album was released June 2nd via Young Turks to world-wide critical acclaim including the elusive 4 stars from Rolling Stone, and a 9.3 “Best New Music” from Pitchfork. Earlier this morning The Today Show’s Tamron Hall featured In Colour’s single “Good Times” during the broadcast and has included it on her “summer playlist.”

Jamie xx kicked off his summer touring with a set at last weekend’s Bonnaroo. He is confirmed to play around the world including a sold-out show at New York City’s Terminal 5 on August 8. Jamie is also playing London’s O2 Brixton Academy on October 15 and at festivals around the world including the likes of Sonar (Spain), Hard Summer (Los Angeles), Melt (Berlin), Pitchfork (Chicago), Rock En Seine (Paris), Parklife, Wildlife, Bestival, Greenman and Reading & Leeds (all UK). All tour dates are listed below.

In Colour is a bold, celebratory, emotional record that features collaboration with The xx band mates Romy Madley Croft (“Seesaw” and “Loud Places”) and Oliver Sim (“Stranger In A Room”), Young Thug and Popcaan (“Good Times”) and Four Tet (“Seesaw”). With this album Jamie has delivered his definitive artistic statement.
